A video showing how to register a domain name using our system under 5 minutes time, that's include creating a Softwex account!
Hello, this is a quick update to show what's been keeping us busy lately.
As we promised you to keep working on our service and make much better, in the past couple of days we have revised the design of the Domain Look Up page to make it more accessible and easy to use, here it is..
In the past version there were a form beneath the result message to enables you to look up for other domain name options but how many people change their mind? No we prefer to let you focus on the message and not be interrupted by anything else. This looks much better I guess!
You also may or may not notice that we added 256-bit SSL encryption to all pages of our site, that's because we care about our customers security, but wait what that mean? It means that it's very difficult now for unauthorized people to view information traveling between your computer and our website and it's unlikely that anyone read your password or see your balance or account info as it travels accross the netwrok. We believe this is the first time a Sudanese online service do this on thier site.
We also been working to bring you a demonstration of our web hosting control panel, we keep saying it is easy to use and bla bla bla bla, but seeing is believing and here it is, now you can try yourself and decide.
We also added a F.A.Qs page to our website to help people answering some common questions.
That was a quick update and now we will get back to work and make this thing much much better.. See ya!
Oh yea and one more thing.. we will be posting a video to show you how you can register a domain name using our system in under 5 minutes time, that's include creating a Softwex account.. how cool is that?!

Yesterday was a very exciting day for us, we have launched iHost "Intelligent Hosting". An online service that will allow -for the first time- Sudanese citizens to register common level domain names from their homes and without the need for international credit cards like Visa or MasterCard.
Since the internet was first introduced in Sudan by Sudan Internet Services Co. Ltd. "Sudanet" in 1996, Sudanese citizens weren't able to register common level domains (.com, .net, .org, .info etc..) online and with simple clicks. The process was always daunting, people had to walk into a technology company request their domain names and get the response days after, and it wasn't cheap either! With Softwex iHost all this is going to change.
iHost will literally unlock a lot of opportunities to the Sudanese people in the world of the internet, especially young ambitious students after being stuck behind the rest of the world for a long time.
iHost is the first service to take advantage of Softwex Card, a payment system which will enable customers to pay their hosting subscriptions, domains registration and renewals fees.
We are very happy because we have received an overwhelming support and thumbs up from Sudanese people which we didn't expect.
Thank you all! you have made our day more exciting, We dedicate this is to you!
I tell you no secret.. our unannounced online service which will be launched next Monday will depend entirely on a payment solution we've developed especially for that purpose.
No one can argue that the absence of an online payment solution for Sudanese websites is holding us back thanks to the American sanctions on Sudan. Sudanese citizens can't use international credit cards like Visa or MasterCard or have accounts on sites like Paypal or MoneyBookers, all doors are closed!
I've witnessed the death of many great ideas for e-comm websites for many young and ambitions Sudanese youths. It's a really sad situation and the Sudanese Gov is not helping as well at least by providing a local payment gateway, i don't know why it is taking them too long to resolve the issue?!
Anyway i think our simple solution to this problem is not perfect but it's OK! And that is quite good enough for now!
UPDATE: After 2 years of writing this post we finally have proper online payment solution in Sudan, now Sudanese citizens can use thier ATM cards on the internet. We at Softwex adopted it on October, 6 2013.
